CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT (CCW)

This course of instruction is designed for students to obtain a solid foundation of defensive handgun skills and techniques for concealed carry and personal defense.  This course is open to all.

This class fulfills the California Department of Justice (DOJ) requirements for the minimum training needed to obtain a Concealed Weapon Permit.

Booking is only available for SUNDAY, the class will take the span of two days of Sunday to Monday.

16-hour course, 2 days at an outdoor range, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Sacramento Valley Gun Club (Address: 15501 Meiss Road, Sloughhouse, CA 95683) https://www.sacvalley.org

Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from the course. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

PREREQUISITE

This is not an entry level class.  At a minimum, students must have completed Advanced Pistol or equivalent, provide documentation of previous training and be approved to take this class by instructor.

Legal, Moral and Ethical Requirements and Use of Force Laws for California
Firearms safety
Safety concerns and practices while carrying concealed
Choosing a concealed carry firearm
Selecting concealed carry equipment
Presentation of the firearm from a concealed carry posture
Defensive pistol marksmanship fundamentals
Close Proximity shooting techniques for violent encounters
One-handed operation
Identification and utilization of cover
Overview of alternative carry techniques
Utilization of force in self-defense, both lethal and less lethal
Pistol inspection and maintenance

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

Semi-auto pistol in one of the following calibers: .380, 9MM, .357SIG, .40S&W, or .45ACP
2 magazines
Belt mounted, outside the waistband holster
Belt mounted, dominant side concealment holster
Magazine/ammunition pouch(es)
Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide
Concealment jacket or vest
Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
Casual, comfortable civilian clothing suitable for training
Hat with a brim
Protective eyewear, sunblock, and hydration.
Active noise reduction hearing protection preferred

AMMUNITION

About 800 rounds of pistol ammunition (provided by student).
